On December 31, 2021, the National Standardization Administration released GB/T 9254.1-2021 "Information Technology Equipment, Multimedia Equipment and Receivers Electromagnetic Compatibility Part 1: Emission Requirements" and GB/T 9254.2-2021 "Information Technology Equipment Multimedia Equipment and Receivers Electromagnetic Compatibility Part 2: Immunity Requirements", which will be officially implemented on July 1, 2022.

GB/T 9254.1-2021 and GB/T 9254.2-2021 are reported by TC79 (National Radio Interference Standardization Technical Committee), TC79SC7 (National Radio Interference Standardization Technical Committee Information Technology Equipment, Multimedia Equipment and Receiver Electromagnetic Compatibility Branch) implementation, The competent authority is the National Standardization Administration. The scope of application of GB/T 9254.1-2021 and GB/T 9254.2-2021 standards includes: televisions, active speakers, audio power amplifiers, microcomputers, monitors, printers, servers, class 08 and class 09 power adapters and other equipment.

1. Interpretation of the GB/T 9254.1-2021 standard

GB/T 9254.1-2021 standard revision adopts IEC national standard standard: CISPR 32:2015, which will completely replace the content of GB/T 13837-2012 and GB/T 9254-2008 standard. 

The changes from the old standard mainly include the following 10 points:

1) The scope of application is wider, suitable for multimedia equipment, including multimedia equipment for professional use and equipment applicable to GB/T 9254-2008 and GB/T 13837-2012;

2) For the radiated emission measurement requirements below 1GHz, the limit of 3m measurement distance in OATS/SAC and the limit of 3m measurement distance and 10m measurement distance in FAR/FSOATS have been added;

3) Added limits and test methods for radiated emission testing in GTEM and RVC;

4) Added limit requirements and measurement procedures for conducted emission in asymmetric mode using the combination of current probe and CVP;

5) Deleted the requirements for the disturbance power test item;

6) Deleted the requirement for the measurement limit of radiation power of the tuning unit of the direct-to-home satellite receiver;

7) The requirement for the measurement limit of equivalent radiated power in the radiated power of the outdoor unit of the direct-to-home satellite receiver is deleted;

8) Removed the RMS-average detector measurement requirement;

9) Changed the warning words in the description of the requirements for Class A equipment;

10) Changed the boundary definition of EUT, AE and related cables in radiated emission measurement;

2. Interpretation of the GB/T 9254.2-2021 standard

The GB/T 9254.2-2021 standard revision adopts the IEC national standard: CISPR 35:2016, which will completely replace the contents of the GB/T 9383-2008 and GB/T 17618-2015 standards. 

The changes from the old standard mainly include the following 7 points:

1) The scope of application is wider, suitable for multimedia equipment, including multimedia equipment for professional use and equipment applicable to GB/T17618-2015 and GB/T 9383-2008;

2) Increase the immunity test of broadband pulse conduction disturbance;

3) Add "The EUT that establishes communication through the wireless network, during the test, the frequency of the applied disturbance signal should not be within the EUT's working frequency band"; add 5G mobile communication related content. Since our country's wireless communication system has its special requirements, this content is added;

4) Delete the input immunity test;

5) Delete the shielding effect test;

6) Delete RF electromagnetic field keying carrier test;

7) Added the content that EUT functions are divided into direct functions and indirect functions;
